Watch you when you say
What you are and when you blame
Everyone, You broken king
Watch you change the frame or
Watch you when you take your aim
At the sum of everything
Cause you and your heart
Shouldn't feel so far apart
You can choose what you take
Why you gotta break and make it feel so hard
You lay there in the street
Like broken glass reflecting pieces of the sun
But you're not the flame
You got the people passing by
Because you know what you don't like
It's just so easy, it's just so easy
But you and your heart
Shouldn't feel so far apart
You can choose what you take
Why you gotta break and make it feel so hard
Oh and you and your heart
Shouldn't feel so far apart
You can choose what you take
Why you gotta break and make it feel so hard
You just scratch so many lines in the sand
Lost the fingernails on your hands
How you're gonna scratch any backs?
Better hope that time will take our lines away
Take all our lines and
Hope that time will take our lines and
Hope that time will take our lines away
Take all our lines away

Catch & Release
Pardon me
Want to live in a fantasy
Quietly
Show you everything you'll ever need
I hope you'll take it
I know you're faking just a little bit
Come on and taste it
Just get excited 'cause you're giving it
Come and see
How the wind in your hair will feel differently
Catch and release the lure above
Here we are
In a backwater overflow
Later on
don't say I didn't tell you so
Maybe I didn't but you're taking it
Knew you were faking just a little bit
Now that you taste it
No need to fight it 'cause you're giving it
Follow me down the streams of sweat on your body
Can't believe the lure was enough
Do you see how the wind in your hair now feels differently
Catch and release the lure above
And who knows
And how this feeling grows
Was it truly worth, truly worth the starting
And who knows
Why the engine's blown
Hope it's truly worth, truly worth the parting
Follow me down the streams of sweat on your body
Can't believe the lure was enough
Do you see how the wind in your hair now feels differently, oh
Catch and release the lure above
Guess the lure was enough
Guess the lure was enough
Yes the lure was enough

Flathead
Well, just because she feeds me well
And she made me talk dirty in a pink hotel
It doesn't mean she's got eyes for me
She might just want my bones, you see
And hey, flathead, don't you get mean
She's the second best killer that I ever have seen
They don't come much more sick than you
I could go on if you want me to
It's just so wrong, so very nice
And I told you once and you killed me twice
I saw you one time at the back of the club
Chewing on glass and a ticket stub
Said "I heard you kicked the boy until he bled
Then you stood and said oh my God until she said"
Well, everybody knows you're the one to call
When the girls get ugly around the back of the wall
Josephine says you got a bleeding nose
She's taking it with her wherever she goes
Hey, flathead, don't check me in
Well hers is a tonic and mine is a gin
They don't come much more slick than you
I'd drive your car if you ask me to
Said the boy's not right in the head
And he stood and got a kicking instead until she said
And she said the boy's not right in the head
Then stood and said oh my God until she said
(The Fratellis - Flathead)

Whistle for the choir
Well it's a big big city and it's always the same
Can never be too pretty tell me your name
Is it out of line if I was to be bold and say "Would you be mine"?
Because I may be a beggar and you may be the queen
And though I may be on a downer Im still ready to dream
Though it's 3 o'clock the time is just the time it takes for you to talk
So if you're lonely
Why'd you say you're not lonely?
Oh you're a silly girl, I know I heard it so
It's just like you to come and go
And oh me, no you don't even know me
You're so sweet to try, oh my, you caught my eye
A girl like you 's just irresistible
Well it's a big big city and the lights are all out
But it's much as I can do you know to figure you out
And I must confess, my hearts so broke in pieces
And my heads a mess
And it's 4 in the morning, and I'm walking along
Beside the ghost of every drinker here who has ever done wrong
And it's you, woo hoo
That's got me going crazy for the things you do
So if you're crazy, I don't care you amaze me
But you're a stupid girl, oh me, oh my, you talk
I die, you smile, you laugh, I cry
And only, a girl like you could be lonely
And it's a crying shame, if you would think the same
A boy like me's just irresistible
So if you're lonely
Why'd you say you're not lonely?
Oh you're a silly girl, I know I heard it so
It's just like you to come and go

Please come home
Please oh please come home today.
If you dont go I cant say no and it will hurt twice more.
Baby, I cant stop for my own desire.
I wrenched my heart with misery and everybody knows.
Please oh please come home to me.
I begged, I begged for these eyes to stop seeing.
Before the loneliness you know its your embrace i miss.
Oh please stick to sewing up the stitches.
Dig down deep with your fingertips. Feeling for the perfect shape and color codes that match for
The lock upon the bolt that shut the door there to that old man's heart.
Long forgotten the keys location so he can load his gun.
But the clouds are getting gray and it looks about to rain.
And shes shaking off the morning while i'm trying to convince her that the pain thats in my belly aint because I cant maintain.
I just havn't felt like feeling for the past couple of days.
When she wakes up, peels the blankets, yawns approval to the baby sun, I squint my eyes and smile when she opens up the closet door with that body bare and beautiful, and contemplates the cloth in which to drape around her frame.
Got substitutes for stoking up the flame that keeps the pain outside.
The perfected perimiter, a place i like to hide.
But it burns, burns down till the fire is extinguished.
And im so cold when im alone in bed, when i wont stop quivering.
Please oh please come home to me.
I've bled, I've bled for these eyes to stop seeing.
Swallow sorrow with the chaser and a wince.
And listen to my promise even if i cant convince you.
Oh even if I can't convince you

Better together
here's no combination of words
i could put on the back of a postcard
no song that i could sing
but i can try for your heart
our dreams and they are made out of real things
like a shoebox of photographs
with sepiatone loving
love is the answer
at least for most of the questions in my heart
like why are we here
and where do we go
and how come we're so hard
it's not always easy
and sometimes life can be deceiving
i'll tell you one thing
it's always better when we're together
it's always better when we're together
we'll look at them stars when we're together
and all of these moments
just might find there way into my dreams tonight
but i know that they'll be gone
when the morning light sings
and brings new things
but tomorrow night you see
that they'll be gone too
too many things i have to do
but if all of these dreams
might find their way
into my day to day scene
i'll be under the impression
i was somewhere in between
with only two
just me and you
not so many things we got to do
or places we got to be
we'll sit beneath the mango tree
it's always better when we're together
we're somewhere in between together
i believe in memories
they look so
so pretty when i sleep
hey now, and when i wake up
you look so pretty sleeping next to me
but there is not enough time
and there is no song i could sing
and there is no combination of words
i could say
but i will still tell you one thing
we're better together
